A Valentine’s Day Love Note to My Readers

For anyone who’s been reading my blog for any length of time (hi to both of you! 😉) you may have noticed that since the Christmas holidays have passed, I’ve reduced the number of baking and sweets recipe posts somewhat in favour of more cooking recipes, using up pantry staples, tips on how to stretch your grocery budget depending on your personal needs and circumstances, and new recipes on how to convert favourite recipes into meatless analogs.

Some of this is to do with me becoming a little more health-conscious and not making or eating as many sweets as I get older. It’s also partly because in this current world-situation-that-shall-not-be-named it’s good practice to teach and remind ourselves to use up what we have before heedlessly buying more more more. And lastly, I’m working on changing up the way I cook for myself and my family, partly due to health concerns, but also to enliven the meal rut that we all get into, where we can often end up making the same 7-10 meals over and over again. Yes, this can even happen to an avid cook and baker like myself!

To that end, I’d really like to hear from YOU, if there are any recipes you would like to see me recreate, as meatless versions of tried-and-true recipes, or maybe try for healthier ingredients, or even to make it more economical and accessible depending on your budget and availability/seasonality of local produce.

In the meantime, I’ll keep sending out my messages into the void, hoping that at least a few people will read these posts and maybe learn a few new things they may not have known, or be inspired to try something new.

Happy Valentine’s/Galentine’s/ValenGuy’s Day to you all!

XOXOXO
