For the 4th year in a row, I’ll be participating in the 2015 Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap, which is a fun and interesting fundraising activity-slash-community builder for food bloggers around the world. The funds go 100% to the charity, Cookies for Kids’ Cancer.
Hosted by amazing food bloggers, Love and Olive Oil and The Little Kitchen, the 5th Annual FB Cookie Swap requires that all participants submit a $4.00 “entry fee”, which is really a donation that goes directly to the charity. Subsequently, each participant is given three names and addresses (in the same country of origin, to make shipping easier) to whom we send a dozen cookies and a printout of the recipe, of a recipe we have not yet made ourselves. Once all the cookies have been baked off and delivered, we can then blog about our recipes, and talk about our cookie matches (and the bloggers who made them).
I highly recommend this pre-Christmas activity to everyone who a) has a current food blog or one who at least posts original food-related topics/recipes from time to time, and b) can commit to following through on making and shipping out the cookie parcels in a timely manner. Nothing would suck more with this swap than to send out cookies and not get anything back. Very Grinchy.
So if anyone is interested in participating in this event, just click on the link above and get baking!
