The 2014 Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap is over for another year and all cookies have been sent to their swap matches. Many thanks to Love and Olive Oil and The Little Kitchen for the Herculean effort it must have taken to arrange all of the logistics for this year’s (and every year’s) swap! Kudos, guys!!! :oD
Sadly, I only have at this point received two of my three swap matches, and for one of them I didn’t receive any recipe information*, so I will separate out and write my review for the one complete cookie swap I did receive, then hopefully I will get more info on the other swap and maybe even receive my third cookie swap in the meantime!
*Update: did some sleuthing and found the info for my second swap! Check my next post for more info!*
I LIEK TEH COOKIES… *wink*
So, with no further ado, here are some lovely pics of my first cookie swap match!
Dark Chocolate Orange Shortbread
by Lyndsay of What Taste (www.whattaste.com)
I had received these cookies a couple of weeks past when they were originally sent and received at my home, but until this past Sunday I didn’t have access to them. So, they were slightly stale, which made them crumblier than I would imagine they should have been, and *might* have affected their taste, but honestly, I found them to be delicious regardless!
The real chocolate paired beautifully with the whipped shortbread drops, and the subtle hint of orange was just enough to complement both the chocolate and the shortbread. My stepfather, a self-described cookie aficionado, thought they were excellent as well. Congrats for a well-made cookie, Lyndsay, and thank you for your swap!
